The first Malayalam poet who appeared in postal stamps :

Kumaran Asan was a philosopher, poet and social reformer by profession. He was of Malayalam origin. He was a very talented individual and brought about a revolution in the field of regional poetry. He had his education in the Sanskrit College and University in Calcutta. Amongst his renowned work mention must be made of Veena Poovu. He was the first Malayalam poet who appeared in the postal stamps during that time.
