He was born at Corsica on 15 August 1769 and died at St. Helena on 5 May 1821. In 1814, he exiled to the island of Elba. In 1815, he was defeated at the Battle of Waterloo (Now in Belgium) by Duke of Wellington. Napoleon is known as 'The Child of French Revolution' and 'Little Corporal'. The French Government formed by Napoleon in 1800 was 'Consulate'. He became the Emperor of France in 1804. The Bank of France was started by Napoleon.

Napoleon surrounded himself with tall bodyguards and was affectionately nicknamed le petit caporal (the little corporal), reflecting his reported camaraderie with his soldiers rather than his height.
